Barbara's Photos Chosen for Joffrey book


Several of Barbara's photos from the Joffrey performances of Ruth: Ricordi Per Due, Apollo, and Clowns have been chosen for a two-page spread in The Joffrey Ballet's 50th anniversary commemorative hardcover book, The Joffrey Ballet: An American Classic.

"I feel in photographing dance the photographer has a special responsibility not only to capture each unique moment within the performance, but to visually respect the essence of the dancers' artistry as well. So much intense training goes into a dancer becoming an artist that I feel it is incumbent upon me to present accurately the culmination of years of training," Barbara said.

This coffee table book captures the essence of the Joffrey's unique repertory in 160 pages of words and imagery that celebrate 50 years of performances.The Joffrey Ballet: An American Classic is available in a standard and commemorative editions from the Office of the Women's Board at the Joffrey.
